- Lisa Wright Elevated to Special Counsel
Effective May 1, 2008, Leonidou & Rosin is pleased to announce the elevation of Lisa Wright to the position of Special Counsel. Ms. Wright has been an associate with the firm since 2000. She serves on the board of directors of the San Francisco Chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) and is on the Government Relations Committee and the Prompt Pay Retention Reform Subcommittee of the Engineering and Utility Contractor's Association (EUCA). She will continue to specialize in all aspects of construction law, from contract review and bid protests through litigation.- L & R Welcomes New Attorneys
L & R is very pleased to announce that three new attorneys have joined the firm as associates: Audrie Lee, Bill Kaufman and Pamela Vartabedian. Audrie, Bill and Pamela will all be working in the firm's construction litigation practice.- Janette Leonidou Addresses Trade and Bar Association Organization
Janette Leonidou has recently given two presentations to the Engineering & Utility Contractors Association ("EUCA"). The first presentation, which was a part of the EUCA Project Management Career Advancement Program, was entitled "Construction Claims Practice and Procedures." The second presentation, which Janette gave in August, was: "California Prompt Payment Statutes." Janette has also given presentations at the EUCA annual meetings on a variety of construction-related topics including, recent legal developments, construction contracts, payment issues, and construction claims. She has also given presentations to the Bay Area Chapter of the American Subcontractors Association ("ASA") on construction issues, including lien law, public contract law, and surety and insurance issues. L&R continues to serve as counsel to EUCA and the Bay Area Chapter of the ASA.- Bob Rosin Publishes Article
Bob Rosin recently published an article entitled “Working with Owner Controlled Insurance Programs.” The article explores the practical ins and outs of OCIP advantages and disadvantages including commonly encountered OCIP problems. The article was published by the Northern California Drywall Association. Recently, Lisa gave a presentation to NAWIC on the practical application of the California and Federal False Claims Act. The presentation focused on the practical application of the complex series of rules and regulations that govern construction claims on public projects that are subject to the False Claims Act. NAWIC is an organization directed toward the advancement and success of women in the construction industry. Lisa is on the board of directors (serving as secretary) for NAWIC, Chapter 19 and is also a member of the EUCA Government Relations – Prompt Pay/Retention Reform Subcommittee.- L&R Alert - Fall 2007
